Join us for Vacation Bible School

June 11-14 from 9-noon

Family lunch & show June 14th at noon

“Whenever I’m afraid, I put my TRUST in You.” Psalm 56:3

This Summer‘s Vacation Bible School “Camp Firelight,” invites children on a summer adventure where they learn to trust God no matter what situation life brings! Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament characters trusted God in the face of their own ears and went on to do great things in God’s name! Through these stories, this VBS will teach campers about people in the Bible who experienced the gift of a trusting relationship with God. In addition, it will remind us to trust God who will go with us, lead the way, share wisdom, give us peace and spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others.

We will start each day together, and then age-grouped classes will move through the rotations of Bible activities, crafts, science, games, music, and snacks. Check-in will be each morning between 8:45-9 am in the Parish Life Center. Carline pick-up will occur each day at noon from the red doors near the Sanctuary. On Friday at noon, we invite families to park & come in to enjoy a luncheon show, highlighting what the children have learned this VBS week.

Offered for campers 3K-5th grade (by 9/1/23).

To go with our camp theme, $30/family registration fee will go towards camp scholarships to Lutheridge mission.

POP Tabs for RMHC CHARLESTON

Even the LITTLE things make a BIG difference!

HOW DO THE POP TABS HELP RMHC CHARLESTON?

The tab of an aluminum can is pure aluminum unlike the rest of the can, which contains paint and other residue. Once our pop tab dumpster is full, we take the pop tabs to a local aluminum recycler. According to the price of aluminum at that time and the weight of our tabs, the recycling center gives us a check. The price of aluminum fluctuates anywhere between 35 to 85 cents a pound. This money is used for our general operating expenses meaning it truly helps in keeping our doors open to continue to serve more than 900 families annually.

While the whole can is valuable as a recyclable, RMHC Charleston does not have the storage capacity to collect the whole can. The aluminum tabs are smaller and easier to handle; they are much easier to handle when large volumes are delivered.

Pop off your tops & bring them to church (look for the gray bin with the pop tops inside a teddy bear container) & we will collect them to give to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Charleston
