May Council Notes

The All Saints Church Council convened via web meeting for its regularly scheduled meeting in May. As we move forward in faith, here are some of the items discussed and decisions made:

+ In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, All Saints will continue conducting worship in drive-in and online formats through July 2020. The Council will continue to monitor and respond to pandemic news and updates.

+ The pastors will provide for the celebration of Holy Communion once a month, starting on Pentecost, May 31st. The preparation and distribution of the Sacrament will be done with the utmost care and attention to safety measures.

+ The Council is open to considering plans that might be presented by Youth and Family Life, Scouts (boy and girl), and Alcoholics Anonymous to hold outdoor-only events, under the following conditions:

  • An event/activity supervisor is identified by the group to maintain accountability for self-monitoring.
  • A social distancing plan be provided to ASLC for review and approval prior to the event.

+ The Council of All Saints Lutheran Church will continue to monitor and respond to the pandemic and will enable appropriate activities as conditions allow.

+ The modified Synod Assembly will be held on July 25th in Lexington. Voting members from All Saints will be Steve & Jane Fordham, Bruce & Diane Hoffman, Pastors Kris & Ginger.

+ With Wendy Register’s retirement, a job description for a new Communication Coordinator was approved.

+ A job description has been posted for a new Music Ministry Associate, but no applicants have yet applied. Leadership invites the congregation to keep these positions and future applicants in prayer.
