It was so wonderful seeing so many of our church families back for our Sunday school kick-off this past Sunday! So many smiling faces and happy hugs to be back with their church friends! Our Little Saints SPARK children learned about Jesus’ call to share the Good News, they made invitations to give to their friends inviting them to join us at Sunday and played friendship games. Our new Affirmation of Baptism classmates and their parents learned about the instruction, worship, mentoring, service and fellowship components that will be part of their faith journey. Meanwhile, our high schoolers and their parents met to discuss their plan for diving deeper into their faith through their Think. Believe. Do. curriculum, faith shares, movie discussions and in-service projects, as well as their involvement in worship, service projects and fellowship events.
As we start this new Sunday school year, we will need parents and others in the congregation to help lead these children and youth in their faith formation. In all age-groups, we provide all of the instruction and supplies needed for the classes—we just need caring, patient and faithful adults to volunteer. Our parents take their turns most of the Sundays, but it is important for them to also be able to participate in their own adult formation classes AND it’s important for our children and youth to see and get to know other adults forming their community of faith taking their time to help support and provide our children and youth faith formation.
Please prayerfully consider helping out when you can in any of the Sunday school areas below:
SPARK for PreK-4th grade children leader
Affirmation of Baptism for 5th grade – 8th grade 2nd adult observer
High School for 9th grade – 12th grade 2nd adult observer
Thank you in advance for your support as we all do our part in our church family’s Christian Formation and help in the promises we make at Baptism!
